SOCIAL DETOX: SHIT I'M LOVING

Listen, I've been off social media for a week and suddenly I feel like my third eye opened. Kidding, well maybe.

Anyways, social media sucks right now and because of that, I've been on a pursuit for inspiration outside of it.

Here are some things I stumbled across the internet that

1. has nothing to do with social media and 2. doesn't suck.

My initial thoughts were, this could be the canon event that makes creativity more accessible and most importantly, it's going to remove intimidation from the process. Affinity essentially gives those who want to learn but are either too intimated or feel that

financially it's a big commitment. Holding your hand when I say,

you no longer have an excuse to not try.

Reasons I love it:

  • It's absolutely free, forever

  • Within the same project, you can toggle between personalized "studios" such as Vector, Pixel and Layout without ever leaving the app.

  • Even at no cost, Affinity provides professional grade tools so when you have to handle those RAW 16 bit color depth files or printing large scale, great quality is the standard for everyone.

Sometimes you want to elevate the storyboard so with this one, I feel like you're upping the ante. Not only is Eye Candy a video library filled with a slew of angles and movie references but it provides history, terminology and context to the referenced shots.

So next time you're in that creative brainstorm, you know how

to verbalize ideas to others.

Reasons I love it:

  • it helps create a visual language for your ideas

  • elevates the storyboard with better direction and treatment

  • it's free

Life has a way of reminding me that my body is part of the process. After much trial and error, I feel as if OPEN blends breath, movement, and stillness into a sensory reset.

Reasons I love it:

  • it feels like a mood board for your nervous system

  • Free 30 day trial (if you feel like exploring, comment below and I'll share my code with you)

  • Even on the days you give minimal effort, there's something on the app that can meet you where you're at.

I share all of this because shit, I can and absolutely should! Especially since access to resources or spaces on the internet that spark inspiration, creativity, joy, and rest are pivotal for the times we're in.

Okay, that's it for now✨

p.s. none of these mentions are sponsored, just looking out for you.
